• Facilitate and implement Corporate Social Investment Projects
• Participate in regular inspections and audits relating to Social Performance
• Facilitate and ensure the progress of projects is communicated to relevant stakeholders
• Participate in the implementation of the applicable Thungela Corporate Affairs and Social Performance policies and standards
• Manage community Complaints and Grievances process and load them on the management system
• Investigate and develop measures required to address needs or gaps
• Identify, communicate, and monitor the mine social risks, Impacts and Human Rights risks
• Co-ordinate and submit stakeholder engagement reports, commitment registers and other related community development reports
• Implement the operating sites’ social performance management plans in line with the social policy and ESG ambition
• Assist in the development, communication, monitoring and reviewing of the Social Management Plans (SMP)

This role is specific to the Zibulo North Shaft project with an interface with the Social Performance department at Band 7 and reports to the project Site Manager. 

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree Social Science / Public Relations/ Environmental
• Certificate in Project Management (advantageous)
• Experience in the mining industry would be advantageous
