Job Title:- SHEQ Specialist Ventilation
Location:- Rustenburg

Compliance Management:
• Ensure that operating standards and procedures are appropriate, entrenched and applied through regular audits and inspections as per organisational and legal requirements
• Ensure that all Ventilation activities are performed in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, ODMWA, COIDA, Water and Environment and Pollution Acts and DME guidelines.

SHEQ administration and reporting:
• Monitor trend ventilation and occupational hygiene related statistics and interpret results
• Ensure that reports on ventilation and occupational hygiene work done in section are scrutinised, collated and verified
• Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements.

GROWTH:
• Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Intermediate and Advanced Certificate in Mine Environmental Control or Degree/Diploma in Occupational Hygiene
• 5 years’ relevant UG ventilation experience as Vent Officer
• 4 years’ experience as Senior Vent Officer / Specialist

Additional qualifications:
• Radiation Protection Certificate (advantageous)
• Blasting Certificate (advantageous)
• Vuma/Ventsim modelling, Autocad (Advantageous)

Skills:
• Reporting and report writing
• Heat stress management
• Scrutinising routine reports
• Supervising subordinates
• Updating ventilation and rescue Plans
• Underground mechanise and conventional mining skills
• Air quality analysis
