Gamagara Municipality Parks Recreation Manager Hiring Requirements:-

• Tertiary qualifications – B Degree/Diploma in Horticulture/Environmental Management or equivalent.• Computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook) will be advantageous.
  • In possession of Code B Driver’s License,
  • Considerable years of relevant experience (5 year) at middle to senior management level of which 3 years must be in landscaping/horticulture, parks and recreation management and administration, parks grounds maintenance or related field, must be able to demonstrate an understanding of municipal legislation, by-laws and regulations requirements in the parks and recreation management environment, ability to manage key outcomes associated with implementation of effective Parks and Recreation Strategies and Procedures.

Key Performance area:

Co-ordinates activities and procedures associated with direct supervision and monitoring of personnel,
services and the status/ general condition of the Parks & Recreation Division.
• Responsible for the deployment and control of necessary equipment, tools, machinery, plant and
vehicles to undertake the work effectively and efficiently.
• Plan and design landscaping for development.
• Plans, coordinates and manages activities of the Parks & Recreation
• Develops divisional vision and strategy and ensure implementation to provide effective service delivery.
• Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific work and associated sequences
associated with the functionality.
