Hessequa District Municipality Financial Services Director Hiring Requirements:-

• B degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 7.•Certificate in Municipal Financial Management (SAQA qualification with ID number 48965) for chief financial officers of municipalities, as stipulated in Regulation 493 dated 15 June 2007, or must complete the prescribed unit standards within 18 months from the date of appointment, as stipulated in Government Notice No.91 of 3 February 2017, as issued in Government Gazette No. 40593.•A postgraduate qualification in financial management would be beneficial.•A minimum of five years relevant experience at middle management level.•The required core competencies as set out in AnnexureA of the Regulations on the Appointment and Conditions of Service of Senior Managers,Government Notice 21 in Government Gazette 37245 dated 17 January 2014.•Advanced knowledge and understanding of applicable policy and legislation.•Advanced understanding of institutional oversight management systems and performance management.•Advanced understanding of council activities and the delegation of powers.•Proven track record of good oversight management, audit and risk management, budget,and financial management.•Ability to be an innovative and strategic leader.•Good facilitation and communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. (English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa).•A valid driving license, reliable transport,and no criminal record
