MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) is essential.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a Shaft Control room or belt operation / compressor operation/ fridge plant operation or Banksman / Onsetter or Engineering Serviceman with experience on compressors, fridge plants, pumping, hoisting, fire detection systems is essential.
• Knowledge of conveyor principles and processes is essential.
• Must have technical background / work experience.
• Intermediate computer literacy (MS Office Package) is essential.
• Fridge plants principles and processes knowledge will be an advantage.
• Ventilation fans principles and processes knowledge is an advantage.
• Knowledge of loading box principles and processes would be an advantage.
• Conveyor principles and processes knowledge is an advantage.
• Shaft schedule knowledge will be an advantage.
• Valid medical certificate or must be medically fit to obtain such a certificate.

COMPETENCIES:

• Water handling systems will be an advantage.
• Proper Communication skills: written and verbal.
• Ability to quickly make informed decisions and prioritization.
• Ability to multitask under pressure.
• Ability to interpret and effectively communicate events and information

• A recognized Electrical Trade qualification (Section 13 or 26D) is essential

OR

Proof of recognized completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND NTC 2 (Recognised Trade Theory) qualification is essential

• Completed MQA Medium Voltage Skills Modules / Training Program is essential
• Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Electrician is essential, of which 2 years is essential on the following:
• MV (33 kV & 6.6 kV) cable installation, termination, fault finding & repairs
• Construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of MV electrical networks including switchgear

• Substation maintenance
• MV testing equipment
• Conveyor maintenance and repairs
• Maintenance and repairs of overhead cranes
• Valid Code 8 drivers licence (essential and be able to attend to callouts)
• A Valid Red Ticket or medical fitness in order to obtain such a certificate.
